When my client told me she wanted to plan her vacation at Punta Cana and she would be traveling as a single instinctively her safety became my main concern. As a mother I couldn't help but think of my own daughter traveling out of the country alone, but I let my worry take a backseat. I figured that if her family was anything like mine they were giving her enough to worry about. After gathering her requirements and presenting a few resort options she settled on Iberostar Punta Cana, a five star all-inclusive resort.
As her travel dates drew closer I imagined what it would be like to travel alone. I could picture myself sun bathing on the white sand beaches in solitude, relaxing in my suite sprawled across the bed with the beach air blowing into the room as I dozed off for an afternoon nap, finding peace and clarity... sounded like a dream. When her travel dates came around I touched base and confirmed all the details and wished her the best on her journey.
After she returned, I gave her a few days to get settled before I asked her about her experience. Here is what she had to say about her adventure:
"It was amazing going solo, I booked so many excursions but you live and learn. I signed up for four excursions but only made it to three: Outback Adventures - HIGHLY recommended, Zipline/Monkeyland - recommended if you liked adrenaline rushes - I really liked the monkeys, and Happy Hour Boat Ride - HIGHLY recommended if you like to drink. The resort was nice. The staff was very nice and friendly. I didn't get my coupons though and I asked for them! The food was okay...not great but cool. Overall, this was hands down the best trip I've ever been on!"
